    Blogs

Hi all Just wanted to ask whether the blogs are going to be merged as currently there is a blog section here in the community section, and another (separate) blog that you can only get to from the main ES site.

Also, as I'm a lazy so-and-so can I ask if it's possible to put a link back to the main ES site from the community section as at the moment, if I want to go back to your main site I have to enter the address in the addressbar - not a major problem but it is a bit of a bugbear of mine I'm afraid.

    Thanks in advance

    Martin

    Re: Blogs

The idea is that at some point users might want to blog about EntitySpaces here. Perhaps that is wishful thinking and much to narrow a topic to blog about. Is it a silly idea, maybe? But Community Server gives us that option. Our thinking was that the EntitySpaces Team blog would remain on our dasBlog blog in case somebody went off half nutz Stick out tongue and made some political, counter productive, or otherwise harmful statement. I'd love to hear comments from you guys/gals on this topic. The real question is this. Is there enough to blog about concerning EntitySpaces? Would people want to? How does one keep a community blog on target, insightful, and professional -- it would need to be to represent our community and hold the readers interests while not sounding like a pure propaganda machine? If that environment existed we could blend the two systems, as our posts would be from the user "EntitySpaces" and we would always sign our blog postings with - The EntitySpaces Team and folks would be able to distinguish our posts from users posts.

    Re: Blogs

    Hi Mike

I see what you're saying about the need for blog separattion between you guys and us end users and think I agree as sometimes, visiting a blog/site and scanning through it can be quite easy to mis-read posts from users and the site owner/s etc.

As for users blogging about EntitySpaces, naturally I can only speak for myself, but part of the reason I use ES is because it (on the whole) just slots right in there and I don't have to devote oodles of time to it so perhaps it is too narrow a field to blog about from my perspective - others opinions may vary though.

I think, again, if it were me, that until a decision had been made then I would be tempted to just remove the blog from this (community) section of the web site as people may mistakingly think it is the one used by your team and as it doesn't mirror the dasBlog entries people may miss out on them.

Anyway, just my 2p - I'm sure others will chip in at some point

    Cheers

    Martin
