    Effort

Are there any effort to incorporate ajax to ES?

    Re: Effort

Well to start there are a million different implementations of AJAX. Some can be used in cooperation with EntitySpaces, but I'm not sure how they would fit directly into our architecture? Are you simply asking what AJAX framework people are using with EntitySpaces? IMO this is not something that should be handled by a persistence layer, but rather at the application level.

    Re: Effort

Just to further expound upon this. For a lot of projects I use Telerik RadAjax. You simply go about writing your application normally with EntitySpaces. Then you would use their AjaxManager control to select which controls have callback events. RadAjax then handles the necessary js callback routine creation and gives you all sorts of options regarding display. This is how it should work regardless of your Ajax framework. We take care of your business object persistence layer, your presentation layer shouldn't be coupled with your persistence layer.

    Re: Effort

    ok. I get it.

I understand that presentation layer shouldn't be coupled with your persistence layer and if ES incorporate something in ajax this will happen.

But for example: I made something in Atlas microsoft ajax framework and the grids generated in EntitySpaces™ ASP.NET Db Admin Grid Template Suite don't do any refresh. I think that this is great functionality.

This could be incorporated to ES in someway or this kind of thing is to be treated by the developer?

    thanks.

Well the Admin Grid templates are entirely different bag of worms. Basically it sounds like what your asking is when we revisit the grid templates we could incoporate Ajax into them. We will consider this, however as I stated before it must work cross browser. Not sure if MS-Ajax has got all their issues straightened out, but we will check we we redo the templates. The other issue is obviously our users in turn may want to redistribute derivative works. Most commercial Ajax framework licenses would not allow for this, so we will have to find one that does if we do incorporate said functionality into the new Admin Grids. If you would like your appication to include this functionality now you are of course able to modify the templates to suit your particular Ajax frameworks needs.

    Re: Effort

I've created MyGeneration template to generate web services methods for MS ASP.NET AJAX ajaxtoolkit autocomplete control.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to create corresponding generator of AJAX autocomplete controls, that will call these web services.
They probably should be incorporated into search functionality of EntitySpaces "Admin Grid Template Suite for ASP.NET"

    paschoal1,

Sorry, I've started a new job and I am not working any more  with AJAX autocomplete.
