    MySQL Provider Change for GUID?

    Mike,

Will ES 2007 handle the Binary(16) as GUID change for this MySQL provider?

We have created our own meta data engine called esMetadataEngine so yes, we can make sure this supported. We will be using our esMetadataEngine under both MyGeneration and CodeSmitih.

ES2007 does not support this. Look for it in ES2008.

Re: MySQL Provider Change for GUID?

Based on your Thursday (roadmap) do you know when to maybe start anticipating the ES2008 updates for MyGeneration/C# and MySQL supporting the lastest provider?

    Thanks

We will be posting the roadmap this weekend, perhaps even tonight.

Re: MySQL Provider Change for GUID?

    Mike,

Do you have any news on the new MySQL provider and the GUID changes with ES 2008? Does it look like this provider will be available in the new ES?

    Thanks

Re: MySQL Provider Change for GUID?

Yes, it will be available. The MySQL provider is converted. We haven't upgraded to the latest MySQL yet, rumor is that they changed their internal structure (schema stuff) so we have some meta data fixes. Also, they added the new GUID type which means an enum change in the MySQL assembly. This then means we will have to have two providers for EntitySpaces (the same holds true for PostgreSQL as they just added a guid type). We spoke about this very thing last night during our meeting. It probably wont make our Aug 27th beta but MySQL as it is now in ES2007 will be in the Aug 27th beta. But yes, the new MySQL will be fully supported in ES2008.

    Mike,

Does the latest ES2008 Beta II support the latest MySQL provider with GUID support?

Re: MySQL Provider Change for GUID?

From your recent blog post, has the GUID feature been added to ES for MySQL or does the different reader functions prevent it from being added?

    Thanks
